Compressing .WAV Files
Download FLAC codec first.
To compress .Wav or other uncompressed audio files that reside on your hard drive to FLAC format you need to start FLAC compressor with suitable command line options. Because it is pretty cumbersome to remember command line options we will use FLAC front-end.
Luckily, the new FLAC codec already comes with a suitable frontend. So, start it (Start/Programs/FLAC/Flac Frontend).
Set encoding level to 8, uncheck add tags and replaygain (screenshot). You can add both later, using some third party programs like Tag&Rename for tags or foobar2000 for replaygain.
Click "Add Files" button and browse to uncompressed files you want to encode to FLAC.
Click "Encode" button, and voila :)
